Why is a pre-pigmentation necessary? (like Color Prep)

The pre-pigmentation makes the tone deeper, richer, and more neutral.
You can imagine it like layering multiple pairs of tights: the more layers, the more opaque. For ashy shades like Dark Blonde, Ash Brown, Dark Brown, Black, or Pure Indigo, the pre-coloring is always golden to reddish to achieve a balanced color result. Other shades can also be applied twice for a stronger color depth.
