How are khadi’s natural hair colors made?

The Ayurvedic plants we use to create our natural hair colors are grown by small agricultural cooperatives in the regions where they originate. To achieve the most vibrant color results, the plants are harvested once a year at the peak of the season.

After harvesting, the plants are carefully hand-sorted to remove stems and branches, ensuring that the final powder contains only the parts with the highest color potency. They are then dried under the strong Indian sun and ground into a very fine powder.
