I have light-medium brown, very fine hair that is about 30-35% gray. I recently used Khadi Ash Brown. My goal was NOT to entirely cover the gray, but to minimize hopefully producing light brown/blond “highlights” on the gray hair. So far, so good. The Ash Brown might be a bit dark (only washed it once after coloring, to date). Typically my fine hair takes color well, but also looses the color readily. I formerly use chemical hair color (Natural Instincts), but as more of my hair faded to gray, I found that the chemical colorant caused a lot of hair breakage, which is when I switched to a natural colorant that is no longer available.
Too soon for me to determine if the Ash Brown shade I chose was ideal. However, the product colored my hair well and has not damaged it—no breakage or coarseness.
