◄How To UseThe ritual of applying khadi Natural Hair Color is a century-old, Ayurvedic practice to naturally color and strengthen hair.
The finely ground plant powder is mixed with tempered water to a naturally creamy paste. This potent color cream is then applied to freshly washed hair. After allowing the hair dye to soak in, the color cream is washed out with water only. The color result is immediately visible, but intensifies over the next 24 to 48 hours.

United StatesThis was indeed an experience but I'll definitely do it again. I'll list the things I struggled with and then list the things I loved. *the gloves that come packaged with the henna... did not work. I even secured the end of the glove on my wrist to ensure I didn't pull the gloves off on accident with the henna on my hands. My hands are really orange, I'm about 18 hours passed the time I henna-d my hair. *it doesn't smell pleasant but it also DOESNT smell like chemicals. The next morning after I showered the henna out.. my hair still sort of smells like a fish tank. Might be user error, might just be the henna. *it was surprisingly drippy, I was concerned about the drips on my neck oxidation and leaving me with stripes... so far no stripes!! *it says the mixture needs to be at 174° F or around there.. for it to be potent and skin damage STARTS at 120° F. I boiled water and when it was at the proper temp I used a sifter to slowly incorporate the henna into the water and then immediately put it on my head when it was fully mixed in. I used 2 pouches.. it took a while. I used a glass handled large measuring cup and a plastic fork. The mixture was smooth and not lumpy at all, but I meticulously mixed the henna into the water batch by batch with the sifter to make sure of this. *the instructions are unclear if your hair needs to be wet or dry for henna applications, and it also doesn't have any instruction or direction on what to do with leftover product. The good!! -it really wasn't that difficult to apply. I sectioned my hair into 6 sections, three on each side of my head, and worked it in section by section. Once I figured out how to apply it with my hands it didn't take too long to get it all through. -my hair feels awesome. It's soft and silky and definitely in much better condition than if I used chemicals to achieve this color red. -easy enough to do at home, the cost is worth the product definitely. Overall - thrilled with the product and I will definitely order it again.

We always recommend applying the color onto clean damp towel dried hair, as it offers an easier application process and yields the best color results. The powder should be mixed with the recommended water temperature. Only apply the color to your scalp when the color cools downs a bit so it doesn't burn the scalp. For a less drippy mixture, we recommend mixing in water slowly and using a whisk to mix as you pour. Once the mixture reaches a yogurt-like consistency, you can stop adding water. It's also excellent to use weekly as it will create a protective layer around your cuticle, enhancing your plant-based hair color and protecting it from heat, sun, and mechanical stressors.
