I was skeptical of this product even with the great reviews, as many other products have failed to deliver on their promises, but I gave it a try as I was desperate to find a more natural way to keep my hair colored and let me tell you there are no regrets!
My hair is very gray in the front and more salt and pepper in the back. Prior to using Khadi, I had it bleached and colored gray to make it look more intentional; however, this lasted but at most a week before the color faded and I was left with yellow straw hair. It was not sustainable and so I set out on the net and found Khadi. While it is A LOT of work, messy, and very technical, it is sooo worth it!!! My hair turned out a greenish black immediately after dying, which I didn't mind. As the color faded, it turned a light chocolate brown and now three weeks later, it is reddish brown. I am now getting ready to dye again three weeks after first application vs the every-other-week a boxed hair dye would have required me to. This is because as advertised, the natural hair growth does not leave that harsh line salon or home dye would--it is truly blended, so although my grays are noticeable, it looks so much more natural that I'm not as self conscious about potential stares or judgement.
The one thing I'd say to be aware of is that I didn't think it gave me shiny hair, as per other reviews, but that's in no way a con for me, just something to be aware of if you're bent on that alleged benefit.
Lastly, for those reviews that claim the product did not work, I suspect they may not have followed the instructions, as you really have to, to a T, to make sure you get the best results. I also left the dye in my hair for 2 hours for best results!
I hope you'll find this review useful and will give this product a try as I have found it to be great and will be just as pleased as I am!
Thank you for sharing such a thorough review! It will significantly benefit those deciding whether to color with khadi!
Since you mentioned having grays, we highly encourage you to use our Color Prep before coloring hair with our Black shade the next time you color your hair. Color Prep will cover up all those grays, and then after washing out Color Prep, you can apply our Black color to damp, towel-dried hair.
Here's a tip-
Let the Color Prep process for 120 minutes if you have resistant grays.
