In very rare cases, and only if applied incorrectly, cooler, ashy shades (with a high percentage of indigo) can develop a greenish tint. Warm, reddish, or golden shades with a high henna content cannot cause this effect.
The most common mistake leading to a greenish tint is skipping pre-pigmentation on white, gray, or light hair. For darker, cooler, ashy shades, we recommend a pre-coloring step on light or gray hair before applying the desired shade. This acts as a primer, creating a solid base for the final color. You can refer to our color chart for specific recommendations.
User Tip:
Every head of hair is unique, so results can vary. If you’ve previously used ashy, cooler shades on light hair without any issues, you may not need to change your routine. However, we still advise following the pre-coloring step as a precaution.
