How do I fix a purple tint in my hair color?

A violet tint (aubergine or rosé) isn’t directly caused by our hair colors. Currently, there are no herbs that produce a cool red tone. If you’re coloring white or light hair with Dark Blonde, Ash Brown, Dark Brown, Black, or Pure Indigo, we recommend pre-treating with ColorPrep. Overlapping cool and dark pigments can sometimes create this effect.

Hormonal changes or medication can also contribute to this discoloration. To neutralize the violet tint, use a warm shade with yellow pigments like Sun Blonde and avoid cool shades with indigo for now.

For best results, apply Sun Blonde at 140-176°F for 20 minutes and repeat if necessary. This will help counteract the tint, but keep in mind it will create a warmer overall color.
