A greenish tint usually occurs when cool color tones accumulate on very light hair, but in most cases, it fades on its own within 48 hours—provided the hair color was rinsed with clear water only. Afterward, you can blow-dry your hair with warm air. If greenish hues are still visible, you can neutralize them with a golden or reddish shade (such as A Hint if Gold, Sunrise, Color Prep, Light Brown, or any red shades). Mix the color with water at 175°F and leave it on for a short time, between 15 and 30 minutes.
To prevent future greenish tones, make sure to follow the recommended mixing temperatures and use a water bath to prevent the color cream from cooling too quickly. Apply the hair color within 15-20 minutes and cover it well with a cap and towel. If you're coloring with Dark Blonde, Ash Brown, Dark Brown, Black, or pure Indigo on white or bleached hair, follow our pre-treatment recommendation with ColorPrep.
